Designed by Lavinia Interactiva for the Spanish Ministry of Education, Arquilabra is a game encompassed by the Leer.es (‘Read’) teaching initiative. Players must complete different sentences word by word, in the correct order and within the minimum amount of time. The phrases are sorted by category (haiku, rhymes, etc.), and players can learn about each subject once the task is completed.
Leer.es did not aim to work as a regular word and letters game, but rather as a semantic or linguistic game, using reading comprehension and requiring multiple skills.
Arquilabra was a pioneer project, which Lavinia Interactiva devised from square one, creating both the original concept and the game mechanics. Its ‘handmade’ design gave the project the winning touch.
